Container Loading Supervision (CLS)
Ensure your products are loaded correctly, safely, and match all shipping documents. Our expert inspectors verify every step of the container loading process in Thailand and China.
What is Container Loading Supervision?
Container Loading Supervision (CLS) is the final quality control checkpoint before your goods leave the factory or port. Our certified inspectors are present during the entire loading process to verify that products are handled correctly, quantities match shipping documents, and containers are properly secured for transit.
While Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) verifies product quality before packing, CLS ensures everything goes into the container exactly as documented. This service is critical for high-value shipments, fragile goods, and orders where accurate quantity verification is essential.
🎯 Key Purpose
CLS bridges the gap between product approval and shipping. Even after passing inspection, products can be damaged, switched, or miscounted during loading. Our supervision ensures what you approved is exactly what gets shipped.
When to Use Container Loading Supervision
- ✓ After Pre-Shipment Inspection passes and loading begins
- ✓ For high-value orders requiring extra security
- ✓ When shipping fragile or easily damaged products
- ✓ For large orders with multiple SKUs requiring accurate counts
- ✓ When past shipments had quantity discrepancies or transit damage
- ✓ For compliance with Letters of Credit (LC) requirements

Common questions about our CLS services in Thailand and China.
What's the difference between Pre-Shipment Inspection and Container Loading Supervision?
Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) examines product quality using AQL sampling before packing. Container Loading Supervision (CLS) monitors the actual loading process to ensure correct quantities, proper handling, and secure stacking. PSI checks "what" is being shipped; CLS ensures "how" it's loaded. For maximum protection, many clients use both services.
How long does container loading supervision take?
Loading time depends on container size and cargo type. A 20' container typically takes 2-4 hours, while a 40' container may take 4-6 hours. Our supervisor stays for the entire loading process, from empty container inspection to final seal application. We charge per container, not by hour.
When should I book container loading supervision?
Book CLS 2-3 days before the scheduled loading date. You'll need to confirm:
- Loading location (factory or port/warehouse)
- Expected loading date and time
- Container type and quantity
- Packing list with carton counts
What if the quantity doesn't match the packing list?
Our supervisor documents any discrepancies immediately with photos and notifies you. You can then decide whether to: accept the shipment as-is with documented shortage, delay loading until missing goods are located, or adjust the packing list and shipping documents accordingly. We'll record your decision in the report.
What container types do you cover?
We supervise loading for all standard container types: 20' and 40' dry containers, 40' high cube, refrigerated (reefer) containers, open-top containers, and flat rack containers. Our supervisors are trained in proper loading techniques for each container type.
Do you cover port loading as well as factory loading?
Yes, we provide CLS at both factory locations and port/CFS warehouses throughout Thailand and China. Port supervision may require additional coordination with port authorities and warehouse operators. Let us know the loading location when booking and we'll handle the arrangements.
